An Heirloom

Polaroid Land
The best family heirlooms are those you have a connection with. Those you can identify as a contraption used by someone long-gone.  Those which generated all those old pictures you cherish.

Whether it still works is something to be discovered.  Whether the monetary value is high or low is of no concern.

A thread connecting you to someone loved and lost can be a jewel, a pressed flower, a photo.  Or in this case, a worn out camera toted around to document the lives of people before you; some you have never met, some you remember as a flicker of childhood memory. Some you only know through the images this aged contraption captured when it was bright and shiny and new.

Simple connections to someone's past are everywhere, you just have to find them.
